Wharfedale ELYSIAN 4 Tower Speakers Pair
The Most Advanced Flagship Tower Speaker in Wharfedale History Will Leave You Breathless: Features Proprietary 3.5-Inch Tweeter, Six-Inch Midrange, and 8.5-Inch Woofers
The absolutely gorgeous Wharfedale Elysian 4 ain't beanbag. In other words, this beautiful-looking and -sounding tower speaker arrives designed from top to bottom to go toe-to-toe with models that sell for upwards of three times its price. Don't believe it? Read on and contact us for scheduling a risk-free in-home audition of these for yourself.
From its proprietary 3.5-inch AMT (Air Motion Transformer) tweeter and woven glass-fiber matrix driver cones to its innovative bass port, Elysian 4 delivers something rare – extraordinary tonal accuracy and holographic imaging across the entire frequency range combined with a warm, inviting musicality that'll have you falling in love with your favorite music again. The most cutting-edge flagship in Wharfedale's eight-decades-plus history, it functions as a remarkably transparent musical instrument that unearths layers of detail while providing fatigue-free listening marked by smooth high frequencies, a lush midrange, and tuneful bass.
Created by Peter Comeau, the designer responsible for Wharfedale's revered Diamond Series, Elysian 4 takes the wide-frequency dispersion and speed capabilities of the AMT tweeter and pushes them to where they've never gone before. You'll hear fine, lifelike micro-detail without any etching. In addition, Elysian 4's two massive 8.5-inch coated glass-fiber matrix cone woofers and six-inch midrange driver produce fast transients due to the low mass and high rigidity of their architecture.
Confirming no detail went overlooked, the midrange is even coupled to the cabinet baffle to match to the acoustics of the room. A computer-modeled crossover, developed over hundreds of hours of listening tests, seamlessly integrates with the driver complement.
From a practical perspective, Elysian 4 also proves easier to place near walls and furniture than conventionally designed models in its class. Credit an innovative bass port (SLPP) that vents its lowest frequencies to a slot at the base, thereby equalizing the high internal pressure to the low pressure in your room. No wonder Elysian 4 reaches down below 28Hz and delivers the full body of percussive, stringed, and wind instruments. And, courtesy of a central phase plug that improves linearity, Elysian 4 produces immersive soundstaging that holds even for off-axis listening.
System-matching is another Elysian 4 specialty. Its 92dB efficiency rating makes it compatible with a wide array of amplifiers. And while it weighs in at 109 pounds, the speaker's moderate 46.7 x 15.6 x 17-inch (HWD) footprint and lush, piano-lacquer-finished cabinet make it a welcome piece in practically any room larger than 250 square feet. Arrange for a risk-free audition today, and we predict Wharfedale's Elysian 4 will impress your ears just as much as your eyes.
