No placement limitations, no fancy setup, no need for an external phono preamplifier, no concerns about accidents: Welcome to spinning vinyl with the Cambridge Audio Alva TT, the world's first Bluetooth aptX HD turntable. Able to be situated wherever you desire, Alva TT streams the sound of your LPs to any Bluetooth receiver at up to high-res 24-bit/48kHz, letting you hear analog no matter where you might be in your home. For instance, Alva TT could play in your bedroom, completely free of any connections to a system or speakers, while you prepared a meal in your kitchen.
All you need is a Bluetooth-equipped device in the latter, and you're listening to vinyl. Of course, Alva TT is right at home in a traditional system, but its freedom to move about – and still deliver the unmistakable experiences associated with high-end vinyl playback – deem it a blue-ocean component.
Alva TT makes everything easy. The plug-and-play 'table comes with a custom-designed, built-in phono preamplifier that borrows elements from Cambridge Audio's celebrated Solo and Duo models. Don't worry about having to add another box to the chain or introduce more clutter to your room. Equally intuitive, a pre-installed MC cartridge with exposed cantilever solves any concerns about having to match Alva TT with a model and saves you the hassle of measurements and associated set-up troubles. That the Alva MC cartridge also reduces resonance and vibration, provides remarkable gain, and tracks like a champion should not go unnoticed.
Ditto the advantages of a medium-torque direct-drive motor that gives you excellent pitch stability and speed accuracy all the while remaining immune to the wear (and replacement costs) that unavoidably happens with belt-drive 'tables. Alva TT's dense, heavy, Polyoxymethylene platter works in harmony with the aforementioned motor and ensures excellent speed stability.
A classic, low-friction, one-piece tonearm free of any joints completes the functional array, and delivers a balance that results in stellar detail retrieval and tonality. As a bonus missing from many of today's 'tables, Alva TT also includes a dust cover for requisite protection from dust, debris, and damage. Seriously, everything you need from a 'table is here.
