Stevie Ray Vaughan In The Beginning 200g Vinyl LP
Mastered from the Original Tapes by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound / 200g Pressing by Quality Record Pressings
Culled from the surviving two-track master, 1992's In The Beginning documents an incendiary 1980 live broadcast from a 25-year-old Stevie Vaughan (still yet to go by Stevie Ray) and Double Trouble in the guitar legend's hometown of Austin, Texas.
With Chris Layton (drums) and Jackie Newhouse (bass) in tow, the proceedings find Vaughan in top form still years away from his debut studio effort banging out an almost 8-minute "Tin Man Alley," running down material by blues heroes like Freddie King ("In The Open") and Otis Rush ("All Your Love (I Miss Loving)") and sprinkling in early originals ("Slide Thing," "Love Struck Baby," "Live Another Day"), all with his signature flare and unbridled emotion.
Mastered from the original tapes by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound using the ultimate VMS 80 cutting lathe, plated by Gary Salstrom and pressed on heavyweight 200-gram vinyl by Quality Record Pressings.
