Alan Parsons On Air Limited Edition Import 180g Vinyl LP

On Air is the second solo release by Alan Parsons following the split of The Alan Parsons Project, originally released in 1996. Although On Air might be the most underrated Alan Parsons albums, many consider this as one of his best.

One of the creative forces was APP long-time guitarist Ian Bairnson. The concept of the album revolves around the history of airborne exploration. The theme of "Too Close to the Sun" is escaping the labyrinth of the Minotaur. "Brother Up In Heaven" is an emotionally driven song, about the unfortunate death of Ian Bairnson's cousin. "One Day To Fly" is a song about Leonardo da Vinci's search to design a flying machine.

A who's-who of lead vocalists are featured on this album; Christopher Cross, Eric Stewart, Neil Lockwood, Steve Overland and Graham Dye. The amazing artwork was re-created for the Music On Vinyl edition by none other than Peter Curzon of Storm Studios. This is the very first vinyl issue of On Air.

After defining the art of the concept album as the engineer Pink Floyd's Dark Side of The Moon and as the figurehead in the Alan Parsons Project, the multi-faceted musician/engineer/producer decided to pursue a solo career, feeling the need to bring his music to the live concert stage and to continue to record conceptual symphonic rock music.

With his long-standing collaborators - guitarist Ian Bairnson, drummer Stuart Elliott and orchestral arranger Andrew Powell - Parsons delivered his first solo album Try Anything Once in 1994. The partnership continued for On Air in 1996 and The Time Machine in 1999.

The concept of Parson's second solo endeavor On Air revolves around the history of airborne exploration and features such acclaimed guest vocalists as Christopher Cross, Eric Stewart, Neil Lockwood, Steve Overland and Graham Dye. Includes songs about escaping the labyrinth of the Minotaur ("Too Close to the Sun"), the death of Bairnson's cousin ("Brother Up In Heaven") and Leonardo da Vinci's search to design a flying machine ("One Day To Fly"). This 180g LP pressing comes complete with amazing re-created artwork made especially for this Music On Vinyl edition by none other than Peter Curzon of Storm Studios.
