Cambridge Audio Azur 752BD Outfitted With Five Wolfson DACs and Outstanding Connectivity: Audiophile-Caliber Universal Blu-ray Player Includes Features No Other Player in its Class Offers
On the surface, the Cambridge Audio Azur 752BD is a class-leading universal player. It plays nearly every disc format, from Blu-ray to DVD, CD, SACD, and more in rich, dynamic, soulful sound that makes digital engagingly addictive and musical performances intimate, full-bodied, immediate, and involving. But while 752BD ranks as the very best (and most affordable) SACD player we offer at this price, it's more than just a disc spinner. Outfitted with five 24-bit/192kHz Wolfson DACs, Azur 752BD handles just about every digital file imaginable and also accesses network streaming services. Whether they're stored or streamed, Azur 752BD presents digital files in sparkling, high-definition detail. From memory sticks and portable hard drives to smartphones and tablets to set-top boxes and game consoles, Azur 752BD brings digital music and video to three-dimensional life. Plus, it accesses drives, laptops, and computers via wi-fi/ethernet. You seriously can't beat its sonics, build quality, abilities, and versatility for the cost.
"From the exceptional build quality to its flawless Blu-ray performance, it really doesn't leave much on the table. The list of great universal Blu-ray players is pretty small, but if you're in the market for one, this is definitely one to look at."
– Home Theater
Every source and every format benefits from Azur 752BD's high-end video and audio processing. Its Marvell Qdeo video processor upscales any video source to full HD and performs realtime 2D-to-3D conversion. It can even upscale to 4K resolution if your TV or projector supports the ultra-high-definition format. Meanwhile, five Wolfson audio DACs boost its audio performance. All video and audio passed through Azur 752BD is delivered in rich, involving, emotional detail.
"The 752BD has the best analog sound quality I've heard from any Blu-ray Disc player so far...there, I said it. The high-end Blu-ray disc player getting the most attention these days is the new Oppo BDP-105. But the 752BD sounds better."
– Widescreen Review
Cambridge also made certain Azur 752BD excels in other areas, from ease of use to construction. An intuitive on-screen display, simple controls, and backlit remote ensure the player's vast range of features are easy to access and understand. An all-metal case provides unstinting stability and cancels out resonance. Cutting-edge transports and Mediatek chipsets mean information loads from discs at an extremely fast pace. Two 3D-ready HDMI 1.4 inputs, two 3D-ready HDMI 1.4 outputs, three USB ports, wi-fi and ethernet, digital optical and coaxial inputs and outputs, an MHL smartphone/tablet link, and dedicated stereo and 7.1 surround sound analog audio outputs come standard. Proprietary ATF Adaptive Time Filtering algorithms, co-developed with Anagram Technologies of Switzerland, provide jitter-free results.
"The 752BD is another winner from Cambridge Audio...for an all-round digital player the 752BD takes some beating."
– Hi-Fi News, Outstanding Product review
Want even more from one box? No problem. A mobile high-definition link via a front-mounted HDMI with video upscaling and audio upsampling of all content expands your options. Access music, photos, and video over network from uPnP NAS drives, laptops, and hard drives. Then, hear and see it all with video upscaling and audio upsampling. Tweak audio output to suit your room needs and tastes with linear, minimum, and steep audiophile filtering options borrowed from Cambridge's DacMagic and flagship Azur 851 line. There's seemingly no end to what the Azur 752BD does, and how well it does it all.
"Although it plays 2D and 3D Blu-ray discs, it's what's elsewhere on the Azur 752BD that gives it that eye-watering price. Marvell Qdeo video scaling to 4K resolution is part of the answer, but it's what the Cambridge Audio Azur 752BD does with audio that makes it special."
