Cambridge Audio Topaz CD10 CD Player

Extreme-Value Topaz CD10 Focuses on One Goal and Comes Up Aces: Excellent-Sounding CD Playback

Cambridge Audio built the entry-level Topaz CD10 with just one thing in mind: Excellent-sounding CD playback. The kind of reproduction that's rich, detailed, full, and involving. Sound quality is maximized, clutter and bells-and-whistles minimized. Topaz CD10 personifies the "simpler is better" concept, and its performance shows why such a strategy pays dividends for music listeners.

"Both Topaz rookies are rock-solid units that provide a rewarding array of the musical thrills and finesse you'd expect when getting started in the high end. No little leaguers here."
– The Absolute Sound

Topaz CD10 is built around a top-notch Wolfson 8761 DAC found in far pricier players. Other high-grade components, including a two-pole Butterworth filter to smoothly cut out noise, as well as ultra-short signal path board design to minimize noise, enhance the appeal. As does an all-metal case. Despite the low cost, there's no cheap plastic casing here like those found on most players in this price range. Circuit boards and DAC stages use surface mounts on both sides, keeping signal paths as short as possible and eliminating wire links.

Akin to the other entry-level components in Cambridge Audio's Topaz line, CD10 astounds with bravura performance and top-notch build quality that are almost unimaginable for such a low cost.
