Tyler Randall and Rob Keenan forged a teenage friendship avoiding schoolwork by learning to play a myriad of musical of instruments and writing songs in their parent's Cincinnati, OH basements. They excelled at it and both attended the Berklee School of Music, dropped out searching for adventure and Tyler hit the woodshed with his sitar. So, what do you get when you mix one of the oldest instruments on earth with guitars, obscure analog synthesizers, electronica, sweet vocals – and a hook-filled, surrealistic song structure that defies comparison?
Brave modern music that's really new but as welcoming to listeners as a friendly "woof" at the front door at an old friend's house: Dawg Yawp. The Appalachian folk duo is now pleased to present their eponymous debut on Old Flame Records.
