Ihsahn Eremita Colored Vinyl 2LP
Ihsahn's prodigious and prolific talents have been at the forefront of heavy music for the past three decades. He began his career as frontman of Emperor who would both define and refine metal, pushing the boundaries of what was considered possible within the most arcane of art forms and taking some of the most adventurous and extreme music of all time to a huge global audience. After the release of their final masterpiece, Prometheus: The Discipline Of Fire & Demise in 2001, the band parted ways to pursue new creative avenues.
Five years later Ihsahn returned with his solo debut The Adversary (2006), the first in a symphonic black metal trilogy of albums which would also include angL (2008) and After (2010). 2012's Eremita marked a new musical chapter for Ihsahn following the conclusion of his acclaimed trilogy. Comprising nine songs, Eremita (Latin for hermit) is the longest and most spirited of Ihsahn's solo recordings to date and fully showcases his highly-trained guitar and keyboard skills to thrilling effect.
Guitar World writes, "with Eremita Ihsahn proves yet again that he is one of the most influential, progressive and enduring musicians to emerge out of the classic Norwegian black metal scene" while MetalSucks proclaims, "Ihsahn just keeps getting better and better with every album he releases. He's really come into his own as one of the most talented musicians and songwriters in all of metal, and his distinct, singular sound has come a long way from his days in Emperor."
