Nana Mouskouri Forever Young Vinyl 2LP

"This album is my story. A tribute imagined in the deepest gratitude for the music, the songs and the artists who inspired me so much in my journey. Only a few artists of course, so many others could have found their place in this collection. These titles that I chose are multicolored sources from all the cultures that I had the chance, the happiness and the greed to explore. Songs that allowed me to learn so much from the world and life, they gave me the opportunity to build myself, to become a singer...All these artists to whom, humbly, I borrow the songs will be forever, as Dylan wrote, Forever Young.

"For this new album, I wanted to resume songs that I had never sung, great successes of the last 60 years. "Forever Young" is a piece of Bob Dylan written at the birth of his son. He speaks of the importance of seeking the truth and never losing the wisdom of youth. I also pick up "In the Ghetto" by Elvis, whom I've always wanted to interpret, or "Lili Marlene" by Marlene Dietrich, who reminds me that I am a child of the war. And I also wanted to sing Amy Winehouse's song, "Love Is a Losing Game." She's an artist I loved, who reminded me of jazz singers like Billie Holiday. She had that originality, and a lot of soul when she sang." - Nana Mouskouri
