Formed by longtime friends Neil Halstead and Rachel Goswell in October of 1989, English shoegaze legends Slowdive released three acclaimed studio albums (Just For A Day, Souvlaki and Pygmailion) between 1991 and 1995 before disbanding and going in a different direction with the laidback, country-tinged Mojave 3.
Blue Day is a 7-track 1992 compilation album from Creation Records which gathers the majority of the cuts from Slowdive's first three EPs Slowdive (minus "Avalyn II"), Morningrise and Holding Our Breath (minus "Catch the Breeze" and the Syd Barrett cover "Golden Hair"). An essential document of Slowdive's formative Just for a Day material!
