The Zombies Begin Here on Limited Edition Import 180g Mono LP

Expertly Half-Speed Mastered at Abbey Road Studios by Jon Astley

The Zombies - featuring superb lead singer Colin Blunstone and fine young keyboard player Rod Argent - were the second UK group following the Beatles to score a No. 1 hit in America. With gorgeous melodies, breathy vocals, choral back-up harmonies and a jazzy influence, The Zombies ruled the 1960's with hit singles like "She's Not There" and "Tell Her No."

Ever since they reunited in recent years, there has been increasing worldwide interest in the group. However, their Beat era LP Begin Here is extremely rare to find in mint condition, with copies costing several hundreds at auctions. Their debut was first released in March 1965, when they leapt to fame with "She's Not There." The smash hit is a highlight here, alongside a selection of R&B ‘covers' that typify the sort of earthy material British bands played in the early-60s, with renditions of such R&B favurites as "Road Runner" and "I Got My Mojo Working," alongside many fine original compositions by Argent and bassist Chris White.

Repertoire's collectable vinyl re-issues are as close as possible to the original LPs. The LPs are mastered at half speed at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, then pressed onto 180g vinyl, offering the listener the best ever sounding version of the album available. The recordings are remastered by Jon Astley (The Who, Led Zeppelin, George Harrison) while the sleeves are printed from superior quality scans with detailed reproduction artwork.
