Tom Petty - Highway Companion 180g Vinyl 2LP (Out Of Stock)
Tom Petty Highway Companion 180g Vinyl 2LP
Originally issued in 2006, Highway Companion marked rock icon Tom Petty's third solo outing and first in a dozen years. Produced by Jeff Lynne (ELO, The Traveling Wilburys), the acclaimed 12-track effort is a timeless album about the passing of time propelled by hit single "Saving Grace" and the Grammy Award-nominated track "Square One." Companion garnered plenty of praise from critics, who hailed the album for its "surefire hooks" (New York Times), "instantly singable tracks" (Boston Globe) and deemed it "his most personal and heartfelt [work] to date" (Billboard).
The legendary singer/songwriter's triple platinum solo debut, Full Moon Fever (1989), also produced by Lynne, hit #3 and spawned the hits “I Won’t Back Down,” “Runnin’ Down A Dream” and “Free Fallin'.” His second solo endeavor Wildflowers (1994), also certified triple platinum, took home a Grammy Award for “You Don’t Know How It Feels” and was nominated for Best Rock Album.
It's been nearly 40 years since Petty and his extraordinary band, The Heartbreakers, unleashed their eponymous debut. In the subsequent decades, Petty - both as a solo artist and as leader of the band - has sold over 80 million records worldwide, earned 18 Grammy nods and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Petty's musical integrity and craft, not to mention his seemingly effortless flair for rapturous hooks, have remained constant despite ever-shifting musical trends, and his multi-generational fan base continues to swell. In the words of Rolling Stone's Alan Light, "The man's consistency is pretty astounding."
