Drake & Future's joint mixtape What a Time to Be Alive debuted at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 in September 2015, marking Drake's fifth and Future's second No. 1 showing. The mixtape was released through Young Money/Cash Money/Republic Records exclusively at Apple Music and iTunes.
 
The hit release broke up the previous Apple Music one-week record held by Dr. Dre, and even outshined Drake's acclaimed February release, If You're Reading This It's Too Late.
 
Drake & Future joined an elite club of only 10 other artists who achieved No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 with two albums in the same year. Drake's last release, If You're Reading This It's Too Late, was 2015's highest first week debut and held the title of "first album to go platinum in 2015." Future's last release, DS2, also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart.
 
After weeks of online hints and overwhelming internet buzz, Drake exclusively premiered What A Time To Be Alive on his Beats 1 show, OVO Sound in the hours prior to the release on Apple Music. Shortly after, it went live on iTunes and soared to No. 1 on the Overall Top Albums Chart after merely 37 minutes in North America.
