Eric Burdon's "I Used To Be An Animal" was originally released in 1988 and was his first new album in almost four years, a comeback record following his sub-biography I Used To Be An Animal, But I'm Alright Now.
 
Many of these tracks, including "Going Back To Memphis", "Run For Your Life", and "I Will Be With You Again", were released as singles worldwide. The album's sound draws on eclectic influences from pop and rock-influenced genres including New Wave, Alt-Rock, Glam-Metal, Disco, Electronica and Blues.
