Goo Goo Dolls - Jed Vinyl LP

Goo Goo Dolls Jed Vinyl LP

Formed in the crumbling rust belt city of Buffalo, NY, multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated rockers Goo Goo Dolls created some of the most memorable musical moments of the '90s with such chart-topping hits as "Name," "Slide" and "Iris." However at the end of the '80s they were a different animal altogether.

Famous frontman Johnny Rzeznik was relegated to backup singer and bassist Robby Takac served as lead. The band's second full-length effort Jed (1989), like its eponymous predecessor, was issued on Metal Blade Records and resembles the lawless punk rock of the Replacements more than the power pop hit makers we know today.

Rzeznik sings lead for the first time here on "Up Yours" and "James Dean" and the band also offers up rowdy covers of the Stones ("Gimme Shelter") and CCR ("Down on the Corner").
