On their promising 1996 full-length debut, This Is A Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About, Modest Mouse was able to distinguish themselves from their contemporaries right out of the gate with Isaac Brock's deeply introspective lyrics and offbeat delivery and the band's writhing yet buoyant rhythms already fully formed.
